1. Who We Are
Azimuth Systems Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is the developer of The OOW Bible and The EOOW & ETO Bible, mobile applications for maritime officer exam preparation. This policy applies to all Azimuth Systems apps. Our registered address is in England and Wales.

2. What Data We Collect
- Account information — your name and email address when you create an account.
- Study progress — question results, module completion, XP, streaks, flashcard review history, and exam scores.
- Subscription status — which plan you are on (Free or Premium); payment is handled entirely by Apple and RevenueCat — we never see your card details.
- Push notification token — a device identifier used solely to send you study reminders if you enable notifications.
- Audio recordings — spoken answers you give in the AI Oral Simulator. These are processed in real time to generate feedback and are not stored permanently on our servers.
- Crash and error reports — anonymised diagnostic data sent to Sentry when the app crashes.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and personalise the app (progress tracking, spaced repetition scheduling).
- To manage your subscription and restore purchases.
- To send study reminder notifications (only if you opt in).
- To diagnose bugs and improve app stability.
- To process referrals (if you share or use a referral code).
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with any third party beyond the processors listed below.
4. Third-Party Processors
- Supabase — database and authentication (EU region).
- RevenueCat — subscription management.
- Anthropic — AI responses in the Oral Simulator. Audio is sent over HTTPS and processed in accordance with Anthropic's privacy policy. Anthropic does not use your data to train its models under the standard API terms.
- Sentry — crash reporting.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, push notifications, App Store payments.
- Google — Sign in with Google.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and study data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account (Settings → Account → Delete Account) all your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
6. Your Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are based in the UK or EEA you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data (right to erasure).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@azimuthsystemsltd.co.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK) or your local supervisory authority.
7. Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.
8. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use industry-standard encryption and row-level security in our database to protect your information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

Privacy FAQ
What data does Azimuth Systems collect?
We collect your email address and authentication credentials, study progress data (flashcard history, exam scores, module completion), and subscription status. We do not collect financial data — payments are handled by Apple, Google, or Stripe.
Is my study data stored on my device or in the cloud?
Study progress is stored locally on your device using SQLite and synced to our Supabase database when you have an internet connection. Offline features always work from local storage.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data from the Settings screen in the app. We will delete your data within 30 days of the request.
